I know I have shared an açaí bowl recipe previously here on the blog, but this time I made a video to show just how easy it is to make this at home.
I am currently in Brazil, where açaí and açaí bowls come from. A lot of people don’t actually know that, but Brazilians have been consuming açaí for ages before it became cool worldwide. Here in Brazil, an açaí bowl is not necessarily something people would eat for breakfast, in fact it is more of a snack than anything else. And it is sometimes sweetened with guarana syrup, which is not exactly the healthiest thing as it is full of sugar. I prefer to make mine without that.
In Australia you can easily find frozen açaí pulp in most health food stores. There’s also açaí powder but I have never used it. The pulp in my opinion is the best to make the bowls, that’s how it is traditionally made in Brazil.
Açaí is so good for you as it is so rich in antioxidants. By itself it doesn’t taste amazing, as it is not sweet, so it is best blended with banana.
