Last week I had the pleasure to attend a raw desserts workshop with Maz Valcorza at Sadhana Kitchen. Sadhana was the first ever raw vegan cafe in Sydney and they serve up some amazing raw dishes including lots of delicious desserts.
This recipe was one of the ones we learned how to prepare in the workshop and it is Maz’s interpretation of a classic Indian dessert called kheer which is basically a spiced rice pudding. In this version chia seeds were used as substitute for rice.
I have attempted to make chia pudding a few times before but was never happy with the results. But when I tried this one at Sadhana Kitchen it blew my mind. It’s just so flavourful and creamy. And it’s super easy to prepare too, it just takes like 5 minutes.
Oh wow! It seems so simple, sounds delicious and healthy too! Your food styling is just beautiful Deb. I have food styling envy :-)
Aww thanks Alana! You and your sister take beautiful photos too. I actually need to come up with new styling ideas, all my photos are starting to look too similar :P
what can you substitute with coconut nectar? would honey be ok?
