I have been making and drinking green smoothies for a while and I can’t believe I’ve never posted a recipe for one here on the blog!
In my opinion green smoothies are the best way to power up your immune-boosting nutrient and mineral consumption. And the best way to add greens to your daily diet too. I drink one every single day.
I know a lot of people are put off by green smoothies but they can actually taste amazing when made right. You just need to get the right balance of greens (kale and spinach are my favourite) and fruit (I always add a sweet fruit such as banana or mango for the sweet flavour). I usually add some protein powder and a teaspoon of a green superfood powder such as spirulina or chlorella for extra nutrients, but make sure you also add something that is rich in vitamin C to help the absorption of iron from the greens. Just be creative! Otherwise follow my recipe below :)
Also having a high speed blender helps a lot. A green smoothie made in a normal blender will normally be on the chunky side. For a smoother texture a high speed blender is definitely the key for making an amazing green smoothie.
